Apple announced a revised version of the 9.7-inch iPad. The new (new) 4th generation iPad comes with the Lightning port, instead of the old 30-pin dock connector. We expected the Lightning port to make its way to the iPad eventually, but it is surprising that the update happened in the middle of the product life cycle.
The 4th generation iPad also features a new A6X processor, which promises twice the graphics performance of the A5X processor in the third generation iPad. Despite the upgraded processor, the 4th generation iPad comes with the same 10 hour battery life.
The 4th generation iPad will cost the same as the previous generation. You can pre-order one on this Friday, and it will ship by November 2nd.
