An internal note published by 9to5Mac reveals that Apple is currently giving refunds to customers complaining about poor Wi-Fi performance in some new iPad models.
In the United States, contact centers and retail stores should capture iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi only devices if they exhibit any issues related to Wi-Fi.
Symptoms can include, but are not limited to:
- Intermittent connectivity
- Slow Wi-Fi speeds
- Wi-Fi network not seen
This policy is limited to Wi-Fi models and not to the LTE models, possibly because of the black plastic cover on the LTE version improving connectivity. Could it be that all those extra pixels are blocking the Wi-Fi radio?
