N.O.V.A. 3 is the latest FPS from Gameloft. Previous games in the series drew inspiration from Halo, but the latest game looks more like Crysis 2. If you can get over Gameloft's unoriginality, you'll see that the game looks great and plays really well. Graphics look stunning, and character models and gun models are borderline console-quality. The game was previously rumored to be running on the Unreal Engine, but I've confirmed with Gameloft that it runs on their internally developed engine. It begs to be played on the new iPad, as it takes advantage of the full Retina display resolution.
Single-player mode offers hours of playtime with various missions. The storyline is nothing to write home about, but the gameplay is very fun and highly addictive. Multi-player mode is also excellent - there are deathmatches, team matches, capture the flag, and many other multi-player modes where you duke it out with people around the world. Even after you finish the single-player mode, you'll have loads of fun in the multi-player mode. I honestly think that this game offers the best multi-player experience for iOS and Android.
The game is available now on the iOS App Store for $6.99. It's excellent value, and I highly recommend it. N.O.V.A. 3 is a huge download (1.9 GB), so make sure to leave enough space on your device before downloading it. Android version should be launching very soon.
