Google just made an enemy out of me. Why? Because Google seized development on Google Listen, my favourite Android application. If you aren't familiar with it, Google Listen is a podcast fetcher app that taps into your Google Reader account. It creates a 'Listen' folder on your Google Reader feeds, syncs all of your podcast feeds in that folder, and automatically marks previously listened episodes as 'read' on Google Reader.
For people who use devices on multiple platforms, Google Listen is the best solution. There are many standalone podcast fetcher apps, but none of them offer user-friendly and web-syncing solutions. iTunes doesn't even count as an elegant solution, because it necessitates syncing with your desktop for keeping track of your podcasts on multiple devices.
Google says Google Listen will no longer function after November 1st. Lame.
