Apple just unveiled the new iPod Touch, and it borrows many new features from the iPhone 5. It comes with a 4-inch Retina display with a 16:9 aspect ratio - same as the iPhone 5. The new touch is only 6.1 mm thin and 88 grams, making it the lightest and thinnest iOS device ever. It also comes with Siri, Apple A5 chipset, 5 megapixel camera with BSI sensor - similar to the one in the 3rd generation iPad - and new wireless options such as Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11n WiFi. It comes with iOS 6 preinstalled as well.
The new iPod Touch also comes with a lanyard loop that Apple calls the Loop. This metal hook pops up when pressed, and users can attach various accessories to the Loop. It also comes in various colours for the back plate, just like the iPod Nano. The new iPod Touch will be available this October in 32GB and 64GB flavours at $299 and $399. The new iPod Touch seems to hold its own against the iPhone 5. I wonder how many people will choose this one instead of the phone?
